BRACCIALETTI ROSSI

Did you know that Italy also has its Red Band Society? They are actually on its second season! It is called Braccialetti Rossi, and here you can see their characters! 

1. Red Band remade…
Red Band Society is based on a Catalan television show Polseres Vermelles, which debuted in 2011.

2. Is there a doctor in the house?
Mimoun revealed that the Red Band Society crew has not one, but two doctors on staff—one in the writer’s room in Los Angeles, and the other on set advising in Atlanta, where the show is filmed (and where we presumed most of the cast were filming during the Paley event).

3. Two parts reality, one part magical realism…
The omniscient Charlie narrates the series from his hospital bed—where he lies in a coma. The pilot episode features a scene where Charlie is shown caught between two worlds with another one of the patients. Mimoun says that the show revisits “Charlie world” again after the pilot.

4. My So-Called Life
Cruz said he’s still asked about his other coming-of-age TV series, My So-Called Life, which starred Claire Danes and Jared Leto. “It never gets old,” he said of the beloved, but short-lived show. Cruz also shared this jaw-dropping tidbit of trivia:My So-Called Life just celebrated the 20th anniversary of its premiere (August 25, 1994).

5. No vampires.
Cruz was dropping one-liners and zingers throughout the night, and when the panel discussed the ways in which Red Band Society was tapping into a teen zeitgeist that leaned more toward The Fault in Our Stars than Twilight, Cruz quipped, “Mortality is the new immortality…we do take blood, though.”

6. On scrub love…
While teen angst and relationships are a big part of the storylines, the adults will have their own sexy entanglements, too. Rittenhouse, who plays the newbie nurse in her first TV role, teased the audience that her character might be “developing a crush” on someone at the hospital. Hmm. Paging, Dr. McAndrew…

7. Malpractice, anyone? 
Speaking of Ocean Park’s resident [adult] hottie, Mimoun did mention that Annable’s character “makes a huge mistake at the end of episode two.”

8. Mysterious Nurse Jackson
Although Nurse Jackson can put her Nurse Ratched face forward, Spencer’s character is a softie when it comes to the kids on her floor. Mimoun said that Jackson “broke rules in the past…and present.” Her history and home life will be explored later in the season to provide a little context to the nurse she’s become. And later in the season, Jackson and McAndrew clash over comatose Charlie.

9. On the grim reaper, reaping…
While the show has a mid-season hiatus because of the World Series, Mimoun said the first 13 episodes take place over three weeks “in hospital time.” Since the show is set in a pediatric ward where the patients are fighting cancer and other diseases, she offered this sobering reality: “Someone may die.”

The words "scary bitch" next to Octavia Spencer cause big controversy

An advertising campaign in the subway and on buses in Los Angeles to promote the series "Red Band Society", adapted from the Spanish "Polseres Vermelles", has been withdrawn after anger woke of numerous activists, as reported by ABC.

The conflict was caused by the placement of the words "scary bitch" next to the actress Octavia Spencer. As some point out, the only insult the poster, which defined in a few words various parties, appeared right next to the only black cast member. In the picture, the other characters were qualified with much milder words: the sexy doc, the coma boy, the rebel, the girl next door, the player...

They point to Spielberg and Fox as responsible

Some point to Steven Spielberg and Fox Studios as responsible for allowing a form depromoción thus mistreating black women. In addition to removal of the poster, which has already occurred in the Metro, the National Action Network are requested requires apologize for what happened. 

A spokesman for the city's subway angelina said authorities had decided to pull the ads because "denigrated women." "The message spoke for itself. It was not acceptable," added the source to Los Angeles Times. The company is now working to remove the 190 ads placed as soon as possible.

Yes! I love it!

What is your role in Red Band Society?

I wrote the american version of the TV show created by Albert Espinosa, "Red Band Society".

When does it starts?

September 17th.

And what is this TV show about?

It narrates the story of a group of boys that live in a hospital, and they get together to have a better life. If you want to know more about it, just watch it. ;)

Who is your favourite character? Who is the most important character?

I think they are all important, but maybe Leo, Jordi, Emma and Charlie are the most. My favourite character is Dash; Dash is me.

Interesting... so, will we cry watching Red Band Society?

If you cry it won't be because you expect to, it's because you didn't. Mostly you will laugh, I hope.

If you could travel anywhere right now, where would you go?

Ireland with Albert Espinosa. He has the deep soul of an Irishman. We would fit in there great together.
First we would go to Dublin. Then we would visit the Temple's Street Children Hospital and eat at Il Posto.
